Rated 5 out of 5 by Lennstang from Best Polaris Snowmobile to date! I currently have 2400 miles on my 800 assault. This is the best sled Polaris has built to date. I have owned almost 30 sleds in my lifetime with most of them being Polaris. My most recent Polaris snowmobiles where a 2012 Rush 800 Le and a 2016 axys Rush 800 Le. This new combination of Axys and Assault chassis is amazing. Very predictable handling, you almost can't tell you are riding a 144 inch snowmobile. The traction is amazing. High-speed stability is much better than a short tracked snowmobile. This is also the fastest Polaris I have ever owned. The fun factor is awesome. On trail and off Trail the Assault absolutely rocks. It truly is the best of both worlds combined into a great chassis.

Rated 5 out of 5 by OUTCAST from WICKED SLED Being a short track Rider all my life, always told my Buddies that I woke never go to anything longer than a 121" skid. I would rate my driving style as 50/50. Drive trails 50% of the time to get to the cut lines and drifts the other 50%. Well when this SBA became available I couldn't pass it up and it's been the best sled I have ever bought. The 2" track is fine for trail riding then turn off into the powder and blast through the drifts. The fun factor on the SBA is a solid 10/10. Hit the throttle and skis come up and the machine takes off. I can't imagine how there could be a better sled made for my riding style.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Recreationwizard from CRAZY FUN 24/7 I have been sledding for many years and many thousands of miles and must say this sled is awesome! I have a 2017 LE 800 Assault and a standard 2017 800 Assault. Just got home from a 500 mile three day ride and just can't get that sled out of my head. The suspension is calibrated way to hard from stock as although I weigh 215 lbs all springs are set to the softest settings. The clickers are also set close to the softest setting. The tall wide windshield is the only one that gives decent wind protection especially when really cold. This new Axys Assault is just plain stupid fun all the time your riding! It is very addictive and I can't wait ti ride again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by instag8err from An absolute blast to ride! I snow checked my 2019 Switchback Assault 850 after loving my 2017 800 Switchback Assault. Overall I love the machine. As with my 2017, the hand warmers never worked very well. I had a front shock fail due to an assembly issue. The reflash the dealer did needs more work. Since the reflash, no matter how good the non ethanol fuel is it has detonation knock even in non premium/ethanol mode in the mid range. That said, I have almost 3,000 miles on the machine and have enjoyed every mile. One set of plugs replaced at 500 miles and the original belt is still on the machine! Hoping to get the issues with the machine ironed out before next season.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Jdannenberg from Underwhelmed but rides great... I really like how the sled rides but it is really delicate. I must have picked a rock up on the trail and it hit the heat exchanger, which required the whole tunnel and engine cradle to be replaced. This repair was more than a third of the initial value of the sled. Seems like you should be able to replace the heat exchanger and the heat exchanger lines that run down the tunnel. After it was fixed I rode it home and put it outside for the night. The other 10 sleds we had in our group started right up but not my Assault. I could ride Sunday with everyone else and I had to take it to the dealer. After 3 sets of plugs and 4 hours, we got it started.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gmoney from Endless power and unbelievable handling - Bought 2 Purchased 2 on snowcheck- to add to the fleet my wife and I kept our 2015, 2016 ProS 800's thinking that they would be the trail sleds- we were pleasantly surprised that the new Assault Axys 144's trail like the Pro S's- which have become back up loaner sleds! I have a 2014 Assault 144 2" which my wife would not ride, this is not the case on the 2017 she loves it as much as her Pro S 800 actually she likes it MORE! Took the family to West Yellowstone and my daughter road the 2017 Assault 144 2" and has decided to sell her turbo Viper! In the mountains on and off trail I was never let down plenty of power and track for my style of riding went almost everywhere the 155's went!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Taslitt from Switchback Assault Hands down the best sled I’ve ever owned! I have been a loyal Polaris snowmobile owner and rider for over 40 years. With out a doubt, the Switchback Assault 144 is the best all around sled I have ever ridden....period! This machine rips the trails and provides comfort for all day riding. I ride trails the majority of the time and can proclaim with confidence that the 144” track is the way to go. The 1.6” Cobra track hooks up like no other track I’ve owned, and the track length bridges the chatter bumps beyond belief. Literally as fast as you want to go...this sled will take it all. An awesome sled for an all day on the trail experience. Wow!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Ellershouse Sled Head from Problem Sled, 2020 850 Assault Second day on trail the temp. sensor went on it. Third day was spent at Polaris Dealer trying to get Temp. Sensor alarms to go away. Dealer put 2 more temp .sensors it sled. Fourth day alarm came back. Now I have foam in my coolant tank, remove cap and I have consist air bubbles coming into coolant tank. Coolant also smells like combustion/ exhaust. Front coils on front shocks are chaffing onto shock body. Had a 2016 800 Switchback which was a problem sled. Dealer gave me a Demo, 2018 800 Assault, loved it enough to give Polaris another try. Spring Breaked a 2020 850 Assault .BOY DID I MAKE A BIG MISTAKE. The 2018 800 Assault Demo that I had would SPACK my NEW 2020 850 Assault.
