SKS 155 Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy!! I bought this sled 3 weeks ago and just got back from my first trip. It was mostly a trail ride trip in the upper peninsula of Michigan. I was very impressed with the handling, maneuverability and comfort in a trail setting, even with my ski stance set at 39 inches. It handled way better than my previous sled which was a Polaris SBA 144 2.0. We also found some really nice fresh powder power line and off trail areas. This is where the sled really excelled! Very easy to side hill and flick around from one ski to the other. The sled only has 450 miles on it, but as of right now, I couldn't be happier!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not what Ithought, but still awesome! I spring ordered this snowmobile because Polaris did a great job advertising the new 850 to be a big power plant, so I ordered a 850 155 sks because where I live we have low snow conditions but I also travel to where the deep lives. My expectation of the 850 was that it has a ton of low end power which I was right and wrong about. It has about the same low end as the old 800 has. In saying that the 850 dominates on the high end power! The sks takes me everywhere that I want to go, glides through the steepest slopes and pulls through the deepest of pow. Even though the 850 wasn’t what I was expecting, I’m still quite pleased with this snowmobile!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SKS-The One Quiver You Need In The Arsenal Where do I start with the SKS? I guess I have a little spot in my heart for the new release of this sled, as my first exposure to a long track and the off trail, deep snow riding world was a 2003 SKS 800 144. I digress, this was a no brainer for me when it was re-released, and I was coming off a 2011 Pro RMK 800. I live in NH, where our winters are widely variable; we could have 5+ feet of snow in the woods and elevations above 3,000' or low snow winters where you're lucky to get off trail. I ride with a mixed group of riders as well, some love trail, others ride the woods, so I needed a sled that could let me go tear up 150 miles of trail one weekend, and then ride up in the 7,000+ ft mountains of McCall, Idaho in 8' of powder. I can absolutely vouch that this sled meets that demand 100%. Sure, it's slightly heavier than a pro, but it's going to be with the extra cooler, which works excellent. In riding with Pro's on trail, I never needed to drop my scratchers and constantly stay in the 125 degree range. I went with a 2.25" track, which is not commonly seen, and it was the best decision I could've made. The 2.25 Peak gives you wicked bite on the trail for a mountain track, but shreds powder and climbs just as good as my old Series 2.4. Gearing is spot on for this sled, it climbs great, gets on the surface with the perfect amount of RPMs, and hits great top speeds for a long track on the trails. I do think the SKS could use some heavier/stronger valving in the rear to eat up those harsher trail bumps a little easier, but that really isn't a significant issue. This really is the perfect sled for the guy or girl that loves powder and trees, but still may put on 1,000 trail miles in a season and hang with the short tracks! And let me assure you, you won't be stuck in the lower, flatter zones when riding with the Pro RMKs, it hangs with the best of them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Strong motor but poor gas management Nice look, nice handling but poor gas management... In 2020, I can't understand that I need to change spark plug because they are flooded... Again this past week-end, I was just trying to move back slowly from a tricky position and I have fooded a spark plug (clutch side). I'm riding snowmobile since 35 years on all 4 brands, I have never changed a spark plug for theses reasons. Also, I have faced ''detonation problems'' and the only way to avoid it is to ride on ethanol setting with Premium gas. I Like Polaris products but with theses problems, Polaris push snowmobile owners to look others brands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from magical mountain sled With the amazing agility of the AXYS chassis and the great power-to-weight ratio, this sled makes me look great. Playing in the tree-studded mountain slopes is awesome, with the ability to "crawl" through tight spots and blast up and over ledges. Carving like no other. I like the extra cooler on the access trails.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 100% purchase. Snow check is the way to go. Everything you could ever want and more. The best machine on the market. If any of you are doubting this machine on its trailing capabilities, don’t. I trail ride this machine 100km+ every ride. It’s a dream and a beast in the deep snow.
