The following is a copy of the S-20-02 Consumer Letter. Vehicles affected by this bulletin will receive notification by mail to the address the vehicle is registered to.
Dear Polaris Owner,
Thank you for purchasing a Polaris vehicle. This notice is to inform you that an issue identified with your vehicle does not meet Polaris product quality standards. Our records show you have purchased an affected vehicle.
The reason for this notice:
Polaris has found that incorrect gearing information was loaded into the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) on some model year 2021 PRO-RMK / RMK KHAOS models. As a result, the gauge will display speed ~25% more than actual travel speed (e.g. when riding 50 mph (80 km/h) gauge will display 62 mph (100 km/h)) and the odometer will log mileage ~25% faster than it should.
What you should do:
Contact your authorized Polaris dealer to schedule an appointment to have the repairs performed before you start riding to ensure the odometer will log mileage correctly. Do not attempt repairs yourself. Repairs must be done only by an authorized Polaris Dealer. This repair should take approximately 20 minutes. When contacting your dealer, discuss parts availability, their schedule and how long they will need to keep your vehicle.
What your dealership will do:
To address this concern, Polaris has authorized your dealer to perform the reprogramming procedure in Digital Wrench. This work will be performed by your dealer at no cost to you.
This notice was mailed to you according to our most current registration information. If you no longer own this vehicle, or if some of the contact information in this notice is incorrect, please contact your dealer to complete a transfer of ownership. Federal law requires that any vehicle lessor receiving this notice must forward a copy of this notice to the lessee within 10 days.
If you need assistance contacting or locating a Polaris dealer, or if you have questions your Polaris Dealer is not able to address, contact our Polaris Owner Connections Department at 1-800-POLARIS (765-2747) or visit the Polaris Help Center.
We apologize for this inconvenience and assure you that we are committed to customer satisfaction and providing worldclass products for riders to enjoy.
